“Thirty Eight” is an original abstract solo drum composition with several different movements, each featuring a different sonic template/textural landscape. The title, “Thirty Eight” refers to the total number of notes played in the repeated rhythmic motive that you hear throughout the piece. This track features the incredible creativity and auditory wizardry of my good friend and engineer on this project, Keven Brennan. Keven’s artistry is omnipresent throughout this entire album, but nowhere more prominent than on this track. Headphones highly recommended for this one.
P.S. After recording this piece, I created a graphic score (or visual representation) of what I played which is included in the video folder on this flash drive. Hope you dig it.
